March 12th 2010- GCS climbing/fall protection class is established. January 25th 2010- Just 18 months after opening its solar doors, GC Solar wins design/install of the largest non-utility owned solar PV project in the State of Washington to date. The 100,000 watt system will have smart grid capability to enable students to compete from classroom to classroom for energy considerations. Riverview Elementary, Snohomish, WA. November 4th 2009- GC Solar is awarded its fifth school project.....design/installation of 14.4 kW solar PV system for Lake Washington School District, Kirkland, WA. September 19th 2009- GC Solar is hired by Norweigen based REC Group, manufacturers of high grade silicon ingots, wafers and cells to provide environmental engineering support at its Moses Lake, Washington production facility. GCS' president: "We're extremely excited to form this new relationship with such a global leader in the solar production industry". August 28th 2009- GC Solar tests "mobile solar-tracker electric car fueling station". System utilizes the new "Enphase" micro inverters for max pwr conversion. June 17th 2009- Company Electric Smart Car arrives after 8 months of conversion. Next stop, paint booth for color change and logos! June 5th 2009- GC Solar successfully erects 32 foot steel beams on a commercial manufacturing building creating a solar PV awning. June 1st 2009- GC Solar is awarded design/installation of 10.6 kW solar PV system for Kenmore City Hall, WA. May 28th 2009 - GC Solar awarded design and installation of 4 commercial/public solar PV systems: Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream factory, Snohomish High School, Cedarville Elementary, and Stanwood High School, WA. May 26th 2009 - Puget Sound Energy utility purchases 8 wind turbines from GC Solar's model turbine collection. Apr 9th 2008 - GC Solar is selected as "ECO-Contractor" for Sam's Club "Once In A Lifetime Package" providing a solar roof, solar thermal trackers and wind turbine. Our first company solar project was permited on 7/23/2008. Recent Projects Bellevue High School - Washington - First permitted commercial PV project in 122,000 population city. Baxter Residence - Stephenville, Texas - ECO House Makeover by Sam's Club, nationally advertised. 6kw PV + 2kw wind turbine OPSCO Warehouse - Sand Draw, Wyoming - Canadian gas company solar PV and wind energy generation station Performance: 115 miles per charge, top speed 90 mph, 0-60mph in 9 seconds. Conversion payback calculates to 5 years. Fuel cost equivalent = $1.75/"tank"
